My Elbert: Neurodiversity and Neurodiscernment

MY ELBERT: EVERYONE LEARNS BETTER EMBRACING REVOLUTIONARY TEACHING IS The first Specialized Online Coaching Curriculum.  I’ve spent the last 25 years perfecting an alternative, holistic approach to correcting learning differences, including, but not limited to, Dyslexia and Neurodevelopmental differences (view  the “why” behind  My Elbert below …view program HERE).

The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).

 

The Solution: When using the etherical body, ALL our faculties, systems, and senses will function equalized, activated, and balanced. The triune brain needs to be working in an upward function (no longer perform in a protective function). With a functional upward system, the child [or adult] can trust themselves and their gifts and learning uniquenesses through spiritual mindset with self-directed neuroplasticity through ABC’s and atonement meaning God awareness (eventually unity) through PYAM Daily. They’re offered the freedom arising from conditions within the brain, senses, or sense organs and not directly caused not by external stimuli but the knowing with-in themselves which is patience for understanding and trusting in their subjective, divergent mind.

Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood (TIV) The new personality construct where people see themselves as victims is called the Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood (ITV). This has found that autistic people often experience stigma, which refers to negative attitudes and treatment from others. Because of that, some autistic people also have negative beliefs about themselves, which may affect their self-worth and mental health. While research suggests that autistic people use a range of strategies to manage stigma, the evidence is limited and mixed in terms of how helpful these strategies are. Personality and Individual Differences

Another Recent Study uncovers the “Tendency for Interpersonal Victimhood”: A new personality construct has been defined that describes people who persistently [see water /S/ and earth /i/ above plus overexcitabilites and hypersensitivities in NTN PART I] themselves as victims within interpersonal conflicts such as learning differences leading to added onto intergenerational anger and shame.

Murphy and Zajonc (1993) affirmed a previous finding that positive and negative affective responses “can be evoked with minimal stimulus input and virtually no cognitive processing” (p. 723). They further found that when affective network response is elicited outside of conscious awareness, brain response is diffuse and a specific location cannot be specified. For example, there is research has suggested, for example, that middle school students with learning disabilities typically view academic situations as threatening, even exhibiting physiological stress responses upon entering a room where they will be asked to read. While more successful readers tend to show mild anxiety when asked to read aloud, students with a history of reading difficulties show elevated heart rates and other indicators of stress even before being given instructions. “The phenomenon, called “naive realism,” leads people to believe that they should have the final word on the world around them.” Their reality is in a delusional sate due to overwhelming anger (hatred, deceit, fear) and shame (grief, guilt, fear) that can create disequilibrium of all states of consciousness. According to Fr. Stephen Freeman, acknowledging our emptiness and brokenness, our failures and weakness, is an exercise in confronting shame. It can be quite painful – something we either avoid or cover over with self-loathing. Shame is not self-loathing. Indeed, the energy behind our self-loathing is simply pride (ϕιλαυτία). Self-loathing is consumed with the self and driven by its unwillingness to be that person. Bearing our shame is the willingness to acknowledge the truth of ourselves and our lives as a simple fact, without protest or promise of reform. It is enduring the simple fact of our lives, how we live them, how we fail, how we really do not love God or others, etc. It is not an exercise in comparative failure – it does not matter whether our weakness is similar to anyone else’s. Such comparisons are merely another exercise in self-justification, an avoidance of the fact, the shame, of our lives. ‘ Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. SHAME– ASUNETOS (Strong’s #801 — Adjective — asunetos — as-oon’-ay-tos ) “without understanding or discernment” (a, negative, sunetos, “intelligent, understanding”), is translated without understanding” in Matthew 15:16 : Mark 7:18; Romans 1:31; 10:19 , RV, “void of understanding” (AV, “foolish”); in Romans 1:21 , RV, “senseless” (AV, “foolish”). Note: In my experience those who have the most shame have suppressed anger; as well, has strong evaluative skills for feelings and future which are not sunetos and based on synthesizing facts, forms and functions.

Definition of discernment. 1 : the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is just, especially by the impartial adjustment of conflicting claims or the assignment of merited rewards or punishments The administration of law, especially the establishment or determination of rights according to the rules of law or equity The quality of being just, impartial or fair, and when to seek forgiveness of others. The maintenance or administration of of His justice: “Jesus responded, not just by picking out two commandments at random. He cited one commandment that pertains directly to man in relationship with His God: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” He said, “This is the first and great commandment.” Mathew 22″34-40.

Sometimes a person becomes stuck in an ego state, or finds that an ego state is no longer beneficial. A child abuse victim, for example, might get stuck in the role of frightened child. …What is the best way to support those with Neurodevelopmental disorders or Neurodiversity in later onset

I find the best support includes understanding the impact that a negative social environment, aka learning with trauma, has on those who have a neurodiversity, or as I prefer to say “neurodifferent”. My program, My Elbert, was developed to help those who feel weak and weary due to being neurodifferent including those working with them. Mainly, I help others to succeed and employ a positive attitude towards learning and learning environment. Instead of allowing shame and anger to overwhelm the learner, I focus on bringing in positive emotions and teaching methods for instance observing when they are needing calm delight. As well, help the learner with their learning difference and change their brain with self-directed neuroplasticity [flexibility and adaptability] and atonement. I support students with mixed: My Elbert enrichment along with literacy intervention, and tutoring online classes. These classes/sessions stem from a hybrid of elements and methods from Montessori- life domains and development with observation, Nouthetic Counseling- theology, evangelism, behavioral sciences , and Orton-Gillingham methods- practice of reading in research.  I developed this program due to my own experience and being labeled severely learning disabled.  As well as, I would like to share I little about myself, I have a Neurodiversity in Auditory, Visual and Vestibular as well a Neurodivergency which had made me weak and weary over the span of my life. Basically, I struggled with anger/shame due to LD (view My Story Of Dyslexia: HERE and ask about my RESUME!)

According to Mark Briscoe, Jesus experienced anger and grief. His anger was a righteous anger for it had selfless reasons. He experienced grief when Lazarus died but not for Lazarus but for the people who loved Lazarus. He knew he would raise Lazarus. But looking at the people who wept he was grieved. And you find the shortest verse in the Bible. “Jesus wept.” He didnt feel shame or guilt for they imply He would have sinned.

     Paul says that God has written a certain knowledge of His laws on every human heart [Rom. 2:14-15], and experience confirms this.  But conscience can be misinformed, or conditioned to regard evil as good, or become seared and dull through repeated sin [1 Tim. 4:2].  The judgments of conscience are only to be received as God’s voice when they match God’s own truth and law in Scripture.  The conscience must be … educated to

     Superstition  or scruple may lead a person to count as sinful an action that according to God’s word is not sinful.  But for such a “weak” conscience [Rom. 14:1-2; 1 Cor. 8:7, 12;]  to go against itself and do what it mistakenly judges to be wrong would be sin [Rom. 14:23].  Those whose conscience is “weak” should never be pressed to do what destroys their good conscience.  What is judged as being “good” or “bad, “right” or wrong” and not the attitude of as “trying my best” which is given in grace. In this particular ancient tradition, anger, or any passion for that matter, is not an appropriate motivation for any action….Of course one must act, personally and politically, in whatever ways are possible and appropriate to make the world a better place, but not with anger burning in your heart.  Anger blinds and deafens.  Anger keeps us from thinking clearly and from paying attention to and loving the human beings in our presence right now.  Anger drives away the Holy Spirit and consistently leads us to say and do things we later regret.  Anger is not the way. We need to give the heart a way out of itself. This goes back to the idea of opening the heart to others. If you want to get out of the trap of anger or resentment, of bitterness, of depression, a key starting point is to find ways to serve another person, because when you really serve someone else, when you offer genuine compassion to another suffering person, the heart does not have time to be bitter, does not have time to loathe or to hold onto energies. Yes, I do believe the disconnect for students, families, and schools. It’s in the Spiritual Development.

The disconnect happens in these domains: (intellectual)- what is right, (moral) what is good, and (imaginative) what is best; meaning, His Divine Will for us in design, plan, and purpose for yourself and meekness towards others! What is Self-Realization/Blamelessness- Imaginative-Moral aka “The Simple” (Clean Mind)?  How can we achieve this state of Being for ourselves? Self Realization is a term that is becoming increasingly more widely used.  In many ways it is an obscure term, and its meaning is not immediately apparent.  For many it is a term that means the same as ‘Enlightenment’ – a word which is similarly something difficult to determine.  However, the term ‘Self Realization’ is more useful as it actually refers to a very specific stage in the journey of awakening that Ramana Maharshi and others described. According to Erik Erikson, during the first years of school, every child must resolve the conflicts between a positive self-image and feelings of inferiority. What is neurodiversity?

People with dyslexia and other forms of neurodiversity have sound and language processing problems. They will struggle to connect letters to sounds and, mainly difficulties identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words; as well, those with visual processing difficulties struggle to understand visual information such as letters, shapes, or objects and problems processing the graphic symbols (mainly, problems with convergence). Other difficulties related to the absorption and processing of sounds [sounds especially can be omitted from words by the student], students with dyslexia most commonly omit letter sounds, words, phrases in the middle position, then the end, and least commonly the beginning. When they omit, they might do sound confusions such as repetition(s), substitution(s), addition(s) or delete altogether, on the other hand; transversal(s) and reversal(s) are more common in students with a visual processing difficulties. P.S. I suggest -have them remember: if it doesn’t look or sound right reread or rewrite till your “brain feels better” [trust your brain-you are smart, you can do it, and you are love]. What is neurodivergency?

I  consult to help others discover their own/someone else’s learning uniquenesses, interest, and how to use their gifts and strengths. Those with a neurodifference usually have a neurodivergency; meaning, they often have intuitive and insightful, well-developed social awareness and emotions while possessing a lexicon of words to help with the synonymous “why’s of dyslexia”. They also have deep and holistic, list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and gaming strategies. They seek their own endeavors of creative, imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to think in 3 dimensions-using our strong evaluation skills and imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). They have an innate ability for caring for people, animals, and nature [Note: sometimes due to circumstances they go against their own nature in this respect]. Lastly, I prepare students with unique learning and neurodifferences to connect to the world with enrichment classes through my program MY ELBERT.

What is neruopedagogy?

My current practice is a holistic, alternative approach to being and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning differences. You need to know that my neuropedagogy is based on the following: my own inductive reasoning, logic of evaluation, outside-of-the box type problem-solving skills, detective sense contributed to my own gift of neurodivergency, gift of knowledge and wisdom (discernment), countless hours of student observations (Montessori), (w)holism, neuroscientific, neuropsychology, educational research (Orton-Gillingham and “Science of Reading”), and spiritual/religious studies (Nouthetic Counseling) along with my perpetual care for the “whole person”. We can identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem, and connection (unity) with God; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health and “wellness”.

What is the best way to support those with Neurodevelopmental disorders or Neurodiversity in later onset?

I find the best support includes understanding the impact that a negative social environment, aka learning with trauma, has on those who have a neurodiversity, or as I prefer to say “neurodifferent”. My program, My Elbert, was developed to help those who feel weak and weary due to being neurodifferent including those working with them. Mainly, I help others to succeed and employ a positive attitude towards learning and learning environment. Instead of allowing shame and anger to overwhelm the learner, I focus on bringing in positive emotions and teaching methods for instance observing when they are needing calm delight. As well, help the learner with their learning difference and change their brain with self-directed neuroplasticity [flexibility and adaptability] and atonement. I support students with mixed: My Elbert enrichment along with literacy intervention, and tutoring online classes. These classes/sessions stem from a hybrid of elements and methods from Montessori- life domains and development with observation, Nouthetic Counseling- theology, evangelism, behavioral sciences , and Orton-Gillingham methods- practice of reading in research.  I developed this program due to my own experience and being labeled severely learning disabled.  As well as, I would like to share I little about myself, I have a Neurodiversity in Auditory, Visual and Vestibular as well a Neurodivergency which had made me weak and weary over the span of my life. Basically, I struggled with anger/shame due to LD (view My Story Of Dyslexia: HERE and ask about my RESUME!)

According to Mark Briscoe, Jesus experienced anger and grief. His anger was a righteous anger for it had selfless reasons. He experienced grief when Lazarus died but not for Lazarus but for the people who loved Lazarus. He knew he would raise Lazarus. But looking at the people who wept he was grieved. And you find the shortest verse in the Bible. “Jesus wept.” He didnt feel shame or guilt for they imply He would have sinned.

     Paul says that God has written a certain knowledge of His laws on every human heart [Rom. 2:14-15], and experience confirms this.  But conscience can be misinformed, or conditioned to regard evil as good, or become seared and dull through repeated sin [1 Tim. 4:2].  The judgments of conscience are only to be received as God’s voice when they match God’s own truth and law in Scripture.  The conscience must be educated to judge scripturally.

     Superstition  or scruple may lead a person to count as sinful an action that according to God’s word is not sinful.  But for such a “weak” conscience [Rom. 14:1-2; 1 Cor. 8:7, 12;]  to go against itself and do what it mistakenly judges to be wrong would be sin [Rom. 14:23].  Those whose conscience is “weak” should never be pressed to do what destroys their good conscience.  What is judged as being “good” or “bad, “right” or wrong” and not the attitude of as “trying my best” which is given in grace.  “The Opening”

Due to learning with trauma and learning struggles, I had a troubled heart, possibly because of my own anger and shame as well as it being intergenerational…till age 42, To Him Be ALL THE GLORY !

 

From my childhood, I had heard so many negative comments that I felt like…I couldn’t do anything right, I was stupid, and “nobody liked me”- this “learning with trauma” had me to develop “Vainglory” by living daily with strife, that, in my later years, I was almost to the point spiritual death. As you can imagine, growing up with a learning disability [labeled severely learning disabled in 1982], these comments of the untruths became my inner thoughts and I believed them. Until mid-adult years, I discovered the veil of being imperfect was ego… [prides] illusion and not what God had intended for His child, me. I thought Jesus was already in my heart; yet, looking back, I had not entirely invited Him fully inside my heart and mind, until the “dark night of the soul” situation happened in my life; I had simply not surrendered my heart and let Him completely into my mind, becoming born-again which means gaining “God’s Spirit” (becoming full)  and a Christ-like mind (becoming complete). Note: God, in His Will and His timing, uncovered the TRUTH. His light had to look into and uncover my problems and emotions, then unto some issues and sin of my childhood and beyond. I had learned the importance of prayer, meditation, movement, daily revelation, intention, and affirmations with scripture reading; basically, I felt like a door had opened and the veil over my heart was released. Similarly, this brought myself, by Faith and His Mercy, into unity [Grace] then into His Light [Glory] and Victory through Jesus Christ unto Him [upon Faith In Hope]. In the Light, we uncovered, with understanding His Word and Mercy, the darkness to become blameless, pure, and righteous. In turn, becoming closer to God helped me to discover replacing anger with simple strength and shame with simple empathy! In  a few years later, approximately the last five years, He has been transforming hatred to courage and grief to compassion, resentment/deceit to trust and guilt into love, peace and justice due to my faith and His mercy, TRUTH: Knowledge-Wisdom, Righteouness-Humility! Therefore, He is my everything; I had been in a situation of pain, struggle, re-evaluation, self-discovery, and now I Rejoice In The GRACE, STRENGTH, FAITH, JOY and LOVE of JESUS-VICTORY of UNDERSTANDING & BLISS!!

 

Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape, or natural disaster [even learning with trauma]. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical. Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea.I had these symptoms daily mostly in school and later on an autoimmune disease [cured now]

After twenty-five years of being in education, I provide tutoring, consulting, and coaching on dyslexia and other neurodevelopmental differences. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; in brief, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and atonement to create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.

The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).

 

The Solution: When using the etherical body, ALL our faculties, systems, and senses will function equalized, activated, and balanced. The triune brain needs to be working in an upward function (no longer perform in a protective function). With a functional upward system, the child [or adult] can trust themselves and their gifts and learning uniquenesses through spiritual mindset with self-directed neuroplasticity through ABC’s and atonement meaning God awareness (eventually unity) through PYAM Daily. They’re offered the freedom arising from conditions within the brain, senses, or sense organs and not directly caused not by external stimuli but the knowing with-in themselves which is patience for understanding and trusting in their subjective, divergent mind.

What is Self-Realization/Blamelessness- Imaginative-Moral aka “The Simple” (Clean Mind)?  How can we achieve this state of Being for ourselves? Self Realization is a term that is becoming increasingly more widely used.  In many ways it is an obscure term, and its meaning is not immediately apparent.  For many it is a term that means the same as ‘Enlightenment’ – a word which is similarly something difficult to determine.  However, the term ‘Self Realization’ is more useful as it actually refers to a very specific stage in the journey of awakening that Ramana Maharshi and others described. What is neurodiversity?

People with dyslexia and other forms of neurodiversity have sound and language processing problems. They will struggle to connect letters to sounds and, mainly difficulties identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words; as well, those with visual processing difficulties struggle to understand visual information such as letters, shapes, or objects and problems processing the graphic symbols (mainly, problems with convergence). Other difficulties related to the absorption and processing of sounds [sounds especially can be omitted from words by the student], students with dyslexia most commonly omit letter sounds, words, phrases in the middle position, then the end, and least commonly the beginning. When they omit, they might do sound confusions such as repetition(s), substitution(s), addition(s) or delete altogether, on the other hand; transversal(s) and reversal(s) are more common in students with a visual processing difficulties. P.S. I suggest -have them remember: if it doesn’t look or sound right reread or rewrite till your “brain feels better” [trust your brain-you are smart, you can do it, and you are love]. What is neurodivergency?

I  consult to help others discover their own/someone else’s learning uniquenesses, interest, and how to use their gifts and strengths. Those with a neurodifference usually have a neurodivergency; meaning, they often have intuitive and insightful, well-developed social awareness and emotions while possessing a lexicon of words to help with the synonymous “why’s of dyslexia”. They also have deep and holistic, list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and gaming strategies. They seek their own endeavors of creative, imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to think in 3 dimensions-using our strong evaluation skills and imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). They have an innate ability for caring for people, animals, and nature [Note: sometimes due to circumstances they go against their own nature in this respect]. Lastly, I prepare students with unique learning and neurodifferences to connect to the world with enrichment classes through my program MY ELBERT.

What is neruopedagogy?

My current practice is a holistic, alternative approach to being and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning differences. You need to know that my neuropedagogy is based on the following: my own inductive reasoning, logic of evaluation, outside-of-the box type problem-solving skills, detective sense contributed to my own gift of neurodivergency, gift of knowledge and wisdom (discernment), countless hours of student observations (Montessori), (w)holism, neuroscientific, neuropsychology, educational research (Orton-Gillingham and “Science of Reading”), and spiritual/religious studies (Nouthetic Counseling) along with my perpetual care for the “whole person”. Oh yes!- the answer is self-directed neuroplasticity (mind-our own will and His “taking on a “Christ-like” mind) and atonement (His Sacred Heart and divine nature, attributes which makes up His essence-“The Leb”). I believe people in anger nature tend to stay in fight, flight. They can be taught when it no longer works for them and/or needs to have an understanding of themselves and “the light”. Likewise, those with shame nature tend to stay in freeze and need help, guidance, and understanding of “life”; as well, those in flee which is both anger and shame who need counsel, for it’s the deepest and hardest to regulate and connect need both “light and life

My Elbert: Neurodiversity & Responsive System Dissociation (RSD)

After twenty-five years of being in education, I provide tutoring, consulting, and coaching  on dyslexia and other neurodevelopmental differences. Over the last 15 years, I’ve observed an increasing amount  of affective,  behavioral, sensorial, cognitive, physical, mental, and spiritual  difficulties and differences due to learning with trauma along with an increased number of children being medicated, misdiagnosed, or going undiagnosed; Therefore, I have developed a neuropedagogy that includes my observations and evaluations that looks at the “whole person” using empirical science, my neurodivergent thinking, and holistic wisdom. Where learning is concerned, the “whole person” is important because people are different and so many learn and think differently.

My neuropedagogy allows neuroscience, psychology, psychopathology, holism, Evangelical theology, and education to come into an authentic practice. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; in brief, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.

The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).

The Solution: When using the etherical body, ALL our faculties, systems, and senses will function equalized, activated, and balanced. The triune brain needs to be working in an upward function (no longer perform in a protective function). With a functional upward system, the child [or adult] can trust themselves and their gifts and learning uniquenesses through spiritual mindset with self-directed neuroplasticity through ABC’s and atonement meaning God awareness (eventually unity) through PYAM Daily. They’re offered the freedom arising from conditions within the brain, senses, or sense organs and not directly caused not by external stimuli but the knowing with-in themselves which is patience for understanding and trusting in their subjective, divergent mind.

What is a Subjective Mind? What is Self-Realization/Blamelessness- Imaginative-Moral aka “The Simple” (Clean Mind)?  How can we achieve this state of Being for ourselves? Self  Realization is a term that is becoming increasingly more widely used.   In many ways it is an obscure term, and its meaning is not immediately  apparent.  For many it is a term that means the same as ‘Enlightenment’ –  a word which is similarly something difficult to determine.  However,  the term ‘Self Realization’ is more useful as it actually refers to a  very specific stage in the journey of awakening that Ramana Maharshi and  others described. According to Erik Erikson,  during the first years of school, every child must resolve the  conflicts between a positive self-image and feelings of inferiority. What is neurodiversity?

People  with dyslexia and other forms of neurodiversity have sound and language  processing problems. They will struggle to connect letters to sounds  and, mainly difficulties identifying speech sounds and learning how they  relate to letters and words; as well, those with visual processing  difficulties struggle to understand visual information such as letters,  shapes, or objects and problems processing the graphic symbols (mainly,  problems with convergence). Other difficulties related to the absorption  and processing of sounds [sounds especially can be omitted from words  by the student], students with dyslexia most commonly omit letter  sounds, words, phrases in the middle position, then the end, and least  commonly the beginning. When they omit, they might do sound confusions  such as repetition(s), substitution(s), addition(s) or delete  altogether, on the other hand; transversal(s) and reversal(s) are more  common in students with a visual processing difficulties. P.S. I suggest  -have them remember: if it doesn’t look or sound right reread or  rewrite till your brain feels like “it’s just right” [trust your  brain-you are smart, you can do it, and you are love]. What is neurodivergency?

 I  consult to help others discover their own/someone else’s  learning uniquenesses, interest, and how to use their gifts and  strengths. Those with a neurodifference usually have a neurodivergency;  meaning, they often have intuitive and insightful, well-developed social  awareness and emotions while possessing a lexicon of words to help with  the synonymous “why’s of dyslexia”. They also have deep and holistic,  list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and  building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and  gaming strategies. They seek their own endeavors of creative,  imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on  inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may  excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from  many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to  think in 3 dimensions-using our strong evaluation skills and  imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). They have an innate ability  for caring for people, animals, and nature [Note: sometimes due to  circumstances they go against their own nature in this respect]. Lastly,  I prepare students with unique learning and neurodifferences to connect  to the world with enrichment classes through my program MY ELBERT.

What is neruopedagogy?

My current practice is a holistic, alternative approach to  being and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and  increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections  (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is  targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners,  not only those with students who have learning differences. You need to  know that my neuropedagogy is based on the following: my own inductive reasoning, logic of evaluation, outside-of-the box type problem-solving  skills, detective sense contributed to my own gift of neurodivergency, gift of knowledge and wisdom (discernment), countless hours of student observations (Montessori), (w)holism, neuroscientific, neuropsychology, educational  research (Orton-Gillingham and “Science of Reading”), and spiritual/religious studies (Nouthetic Counseling) along  with my perpetual care for the “whole person”. We can identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil;  seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem,  and connection (unity) with God; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health and “wellness”.

What is discernment  meekness? (Divine Love)

What is the best way to support those with Neurodevelopmental disorders or Neurodiversity in later onset?

I find the best support includes  understanding the impact that a negative social environment, aka  learning with trauma, has on those who have a neurodiversity, or as I  prefer to say “neurodifferent”. My program, My Elbert, was developed to  help those who feel weak and weary due to being neurodifferent including  those working with them. Mainly, I help others to succeed and employ a  positive attitude towards learning and learning environment. Instead of  allowing shame and anger to overwhelm the learner, I focus on bringing  in positive emotions and teaching methods for instance observing when  they are needing calm delight. As well, help the learner with their  learning difference and change their brain with self-directed neuroplasticity [flexibility and adaptability] and atonement. 

I support students with mixed: My Elbert enrichment along with literacy  intervention, and tutoring online classes. These classes/sessions stem  from a hybrid of elements and methods from Montessori- life domains and development with observation, Nouthetic  Counseling- theology, evangelism, behavioral sciences , and Orton-Gillingham methods- practice of reading in research.  I developed this program  due to my own experience and being labeled severely learning disabled.  As  well as, I would like to share I little about myself, I have a  Neurodiversity in Auditory, Visual and Vestibular as well a  Neurodivergency which had made me weak and weary over the span of my life. Basically,  I struggled with anger/shame due to LD (view My Story Of Dyslexia: HERE and ask about my RESUME!)

According to Mark Briscoe, Jesus experienced anger and grief. His anger was a righteous anger for  it had selfless reasons.  He experienced grief when Lazarus died but  not for Lazarus but for the people who loved Lazarus. He knew he would  raise Lazarus. But looking at the people who wept he was grieved. And  you find the shortest verse in the Bible. “Jesus wept.”  He didn’t feel shame or guilt for they imply He would have sinned. 

     Paul says that God has written a certain knowledge of His laws  on every human heart [Rom. 2:14-15], and experience confirms this.  But  conscience can be misinformed, or conditioned to regard evil as good,  or become seared and dull through repeated sin [1 Tim. 4:2].  The  judgments of conscience are only to be received as God’s voice when they  match God’s own truth and law in Scripture.  The conscience must be  educated to judge scripturally.

Superstition  or scruple may lead a person to count as sinful  an action that according to God’s word is not sinful.  But for such a  “weak” conscience [Rom. 14:1-2; 1 Cor. 8:7, 12;]  to go against itself  and do what it mistakenly judges to be wrong would be sin [Rom. 14:23].   Those whose conscience is “weak” should never be pressed to do what  destroys their good conscience.  The New Testament ideal is a conscience free from guilt and  able to guide us in  a holy direction.  The conscience can only be freed  from guilt by the power of Christ’s blood.  Once freed and protected in  its freedom by the gift of justification, the conscience is able to  grow through the teaching of Scripture and the means of grace in  Christian life…

Like my  friend, Al Rosenblum wrote, God made us with an empty place in our hearts that only He can fill. He  fills the spiritual need enabling us to operate lovingly and effectively  in our human relationships. The empty place causes us to have  hunger/thirst for love, affection, appreciation, etc.. We use our   to attach to people and things in our world that we believe will fill  our emptiness. Before salvation which happens in a microsecond of time  when we believe the gospel (death, burial, resurrection of Jesus to  resolve our sin debt with God-Father) we are disconnected from God and  can only attach our hunger & faith to people & earthly things of  the world. We attach our hearts to the things of this life and build a  false belief system around the idea that the love of people and possessions  (instead of  God) can make us happy (a lie). We build our entire belief system on lies that we pick up out of the world (this statement  requires considerable explanation). All that we learn & believe that  builds our thinking system before we are saved is devoid of God as the center & purpose and without the Holy Spirit to reveal the divine truths to us. After we are saved we use the same system to learn the same divine ideas that Jesus used in His earthly life so that we can use them too, becoming like Him from the inside out (horizontal) not just outside in (vertical). AGAIN, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart (energy-bliss-thymus), and with all thy soul (power-joy-pons), and with all thy mind (energy-bliss-thymus) and strength (body-delight-ras-gut) [UPWARD FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM– Thymus, Pons, RAS/GUT].  Mathew 22:37-39 

We have all harbored anger and shame in our high heart-mind. Jesus works on our “Leb” at night, giving His believers instruction at night and request for us to be in a mindset of Christ the rest of the day! 

What are mitochondria?

Mitochondria are  compartmentalized, dual-membrane organelles that are responsible for  most energy production in the cell. Mitochondria contain their own DNA  and ribosomes (RNA).  Their primary function is to convert energy from glucose into ATP via oxidative phosphorylation. Mitochondria also play an  important role in the cellular stress response through processes such as  autophagy, apoptosis, and hypoxia. Mitochondrial dysfunction is implicated in many human diseases including cancer, metabolic syndrome  & neurodegenerative disorders, ex. Mitochondria have been increasing recognized as important players in the  aging process. Most aging related diseases and particularly  neurodegenerative diseases have mitochondrial involvement. Co-activation- brings the neurons to activation and stimulation of mitochondrial production within the cells which  helps build more efficient, proactive neuronal networks and plasticity.  Mitochondria are the principal synergetic energy generators of cells, and neurons are cells that require a lot of energy. People with depression have fewer mitochondria in their neurons and people with untreated depression have lower levels of protein produced by mitochondria. These help maintain optimal energy production as well as structural integrity and optimal numbers of mitochondria. A characteristic of diseases such as Alzheimer’s and  Parkinson’s—collectively known as neurodegenerative diseases—is the  build-up of misfolded proteins. These proteins, such as amyloid and tau  in Alzheimer’s disease, form ‘aggregates’ that can cause irreversible  damage to nerve cells in the brain. Protein folding is a normal  process in the body, and in healthy individuals, cells carry out a form  of quality control to ensure that proteins are correctly folded and that  misfolded proteins are destroyed. But in neurodegenerative diseases,  this system becomes impaired, with potentially devastating consequences. As  the global population ages, an increasing number of people are being  diagnosed with dementia, making the search for effective drugs ever more  urgent. My Elbert: Neurodiversity & Transpersonal Self

Where learning is concerned, the “whole person” is important because people are different and so many learn and think differently. My neuropedagogy allows neuroscience, psychology, psychopathology, holism, Evangelical theology, and education to come into an authentic practice. It really looks at how we all process information differently in space and interconnected time; in brief, we are all wired with dissimilarity for which each neural pathway is connected differently to process the same information that we all can receive. My current practice is a holistic approach to discovery of inner-being, spiritual-growth, and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners, not only those with students who have learning disabilities.

The Problem: We are seeing children/adults digress with gulf-sized disconnect and low self-esteem. Each child/adult is multidimensional, and ALL our systems and senses need to function equalized, activated, and balanced for learning to take place. The triune brain which is the neomammalian complex (RAS- aka neocortex), midbrain (pons- aka limbic system), and forebrain (thymus aka reptilian) is working on a downward function, which makes learning and thinking chaotic in the mind. People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric).

The disconnect happens in these domains: (intellectual)- what is right, (moral) what is good, and (imaginative)  what is best; meaning, His Divine Will for us in design, plan, and purpose for yourself and meekness towards others! What is Self-Realization/Blamelessness- Imaginative-Moral aka “The Simple” (Clean Mind)?  How can we achieve this state of Being for ourselves? Self  Realization is a term that is becoming increasingly more widely used.   In many ways it is an obscure term, and its meaning is not immediately  apparent.  For many it is a term that means the same as ‘Enlightenment’ –  a word which is similarly something difficult to determine.  However,  the term ‘Self Realization’ is more useful as it actually refers to a  very specific stage in the journey of awakening that Ramana Maharshi and  others described. According to Erik Erikson,  during the first years of school, every child must resolve the  conflicts between a positive self-image and feelings of inferiority. Responsive System Dysfunction (RSD) A Functional System Dominance (FSD)- when the RAS & ACC (anger)/HPA (shame) and the brain stem (reptilian brain) regulates our sympathetic (anger) and parasympathetic (shame) systems as it responds to stress: such as when reading. It also acts as a vehicle for sensory information. Note: Students with Sympathetic Functional System Dominance (anger-SFD) have mostly hyper-sensory processing and Parasympathetic Functional System Dominance (shame-PFD) has hypo-sensory processing and Total Functional System Dominance (both anger and shame- TFD) and varied processing. This disequilibrium of the systems can make appropriate learning behavior more or less challenging such as: self-regulation, attention and executive functioning, oppositional and aggressive behavior, anxiety and possibly even depression

Basal ganglia- regulating motor functions. The “basal ganglia” refers to a group of subcortical nuclei responsible primarily for motor control, as well as other roles such as motor learning, executive functions and behaviors, and emotions. Students with Sympathetic Functional System Dominance (anger-SFD) have mostly hyper-sensory processing and hyperactivity in their proprioceptive, somatic, vestibular, and gross-motor abilities (ADHD- hyperactive type & cerebral palsy) and Parasympathetic Functional System Dominance (shame- PFD)- have mostly hypo-sensory processing and hypoactivity in their proprioceptive, somatic, vestibular, and fine-motor abilities (ADHD-inattentive type & dysgraphia). Varied is, of course, Total  Functional System Dominance which is most common with dysgraphia (anger and shame- TFD).

Note: Kessler Foundation showed that signal detection metrics (perceptual  certainty and response bias) correlated with changes in cognitive  fatigue as well as with activation in the striatum of the basal  ganglia—an area of the brain Kessler researchers have previously  identified as sensitive to changes in cognitive fatigue. Hippocampus- Parasympathetic Functional System Dominance (shame- PFD)- have mostly hypo-sensory processing and hypoactivity of the hippocampus which helps humans process and retrieve two kinds of memory, declarative memories, and spatial relationships. Declarative memories are those related to facts and events. Examples include learning how to memorize speeches or lines in a play. Spatial relationship memories involve pathways or routes. Spatial relationship, emotional reappraisal, and memories appear to be stored in the right hippocampus. The hippocamp is also where short-term memories are turned into long-term memories. Relative to the hippocampus, these memories are then stored as polarities of time & space in the brain-experiences and reality of consciousness the past, future and present. Note: Students with learning differences, neurodivergency have problems with perceptual ability, time & space awareness, executive functioning, and memory (also see PONS and Thymus below).

What is neurodiversity?

People  with dyslexia and other forms of neurodiversity have sound and language  processing problems. They will struggle to connect letters to sounds  and, mainly difficulties identifying speech sounds and learning how they  relate to letters and words; as well, those with visual processing  difficulties struggle to understand visual information such as letters,  shapes, or objects and problems processing the graphic symbols (mainly,  problems with convergence). Other difficulties related to the absorption  and processing of sounds [sounds especially can be omitted from words  by the student], students with dyslexia most commonly omit letter  sounds, words, phrases in the middle position, then the end, and least  commonly the beginning. When they omit, they might do sound confusions  such as repetition(s), substitution(s), addition(s) or delete  altogether, on the other hand; transversal(s) and reversal(s) are more  common in students with a visual processing difficulties. P.S. I suggest  -have them remember: if it doesn’t look or sound right reread or  rewrite till your brain feels like “it’s just right” [trust your  brain-you are smart, you can do it, and you are love]. What is neurodivergency?

 I  consult to help others discover their own/someone else’s  learning uniquenesses, interest, and how to use their gifts and  strengths. Those with a neurodifference usually have a neurodivergency;  meaning, they often have intuitive and insightful, well-developed social  awareness and emotions while possessing a lexicon of words to help with  the synonymous “why’s of dyslexia”. They also have deep and holistic,  list-form type thinking including: problem-solving and  building/constructing abilities, competitive drive, computer skills, and  gaming strategies. They seek their own endeavors of creative,  imaginative, visual, artistic, and visionary skills while taking on  inventing and innovating pursuits. I can also tell you that they may  excel at thinking of “outside the box” solutions, seeing a problem from  many sides, and patterns/spatial relationships along with the ability to  think in 3 dimensions-using our strong evaluation skills and  imagination (capable of observing patterns of: color, shape, size, dimension, rhythm, meter, tone, and chant). They have an innate ability  for caring for people, animals, and nature [Note: sometimes due to  circumstances they go against their own nature in this respect]. Lastly,  I prepare students with unique learning and neurodifferences to connect  to the world with enrichment classes through my program MY ELBERT.

What is neruopedagogy?

My current practice is a holistic, alternative approach to  being and aims to learn how to stimulate new zones of the brain, and  increase self-directed neuroplasticity, and create connections  (neuropathways) for learning to be successful. Furthermore, it is  targeted at naturally stimulating the brains of all types of learners,  not only those with students who have learning differences. You need to  know that my neuropedagogy is based on the following: my own inductive reasoning, logic of evaluation, outside-of-the box type problem-solving  skills, detective sense contributed to my own gift of neurodivergency, gift of knowledge and wisdom (discernment), countless hours of student observations (Montessori), (w)holism, neuroscientific, neuropsychology, educational  research (Orton-Gillingham and “Science of Reading”), and spiritual/religious studies (Nouthetic Counseling) along  with my perpetual care for the “whole person”. We can identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil;  seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem,  and connection (unity) with God; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health and “wellness”.

What is the best way to support those with Neurodevelopmental disorders or Neurodiversity in later onset?

I find the best support includes  understanding the impact that a negative social environment, aka  learning with trauma, has on those who have a neurodiversity, or as I  prefer to say “neurodifferent”. My program, My Elbert, was developed to  help those who feel weak and weary due to being neurodifferent including  those working with them. Mainly, I help others to succeed and employ a  positive attitude towards learning and learning environment. Instead of  allowing shame and anger to overwhelm the learner, I focus on bringing  in positive emotions and teaching methods for instance observing when  they are needing calm delight. As well, help the learner with their  learning difference and change their brain with self-directed neuroplasticity [flexibility and adaptability] and atonement.  I support students with mixed: My Elbert enrichment along with literacy  intervention, and tutoring online classes. These classes/sessions stem  from a hybrid of elements and methods from Montessori- life domains and development with observation, Nouthetic  Counseling- theology, evangelism, behavioral sciences , and Orton-Gillingham methods- practice of reading in research.  I developed this program  due to my own experience and being labeled severely learning disabled.  As  well as, I would like to share I little about myself, I have a  Neurodiversity in Auditory, Visual and Vestibular as well a  Neurodivergency which had made me weak and weary over the span of my life. Basically,  I struggled with anger/shame due to LD (view My Story Of Dyslexia: HERE and ask about my RESUME!)

According to Mark Briscoe, Jesus experienced anger and grief. His anger was a righteous anger for  it had selfless reasons.  He experienced grief when Lazarus died but  not for Lazarus but for the people who loved Lazarus. He knew he would  raise Lazarus. But looking at the people who wept he was grieved. And  you find the shortest verse in the Bible. “Jesus wept.”  He didnt feel shame or guilt for they imply He would have sinned. 

     Paul says that God has written a certain knowledge of His laws  on every human heart [Rom. 2:14-15], and experience confirms this.  But  conscience can be misinformed, or conditioned to regard evil as good,  or become seared and dull through repeated sin [1 Tim. 4:2].  The  judgments of conscience are only to be received as God’s voice when they  match God’s own truth and law in Scripture.  The conscience must be  educated to judge scripturally.

     Superstition  or scruple may lead a person to count as sinful  an action that according to God’s word is not sinful.  But for such a  “weak” conscience [Rom. 14:1-2; 1 Cor. 8:7, 12;]  to go against itself  and do what it mistakenly judges to be wrong would be sin [Rom. 14:23].   Those whose conscience is “weak” should never be pressed to do what  destroys their good conscience.  

 The New Testament ideal is a conscience free from guilt and  able to guide us in  a holy direction.  The conscience can only be freed  from guilt by the power of Christ’s blood.  Once freed and protected in  its freedom by the gift of justification, the conscience is able to  grow through the teaching of Scripture and the means of grace in  Christian life…

Like my  friend, Al Rosenblum wrote, God made us with an empty place in our hearts that only He can fill. He  fills the spiritual need enabling us to operate lovingly and effectively  in our human relationships. The empty place causes us to have  hunger/thirst for love, affection, appreciation, etc.. We use our   to attach to people and things in our world that we believe will fill  our emptiness. Before salvation which happens in a microsecond of time  when we believe the gospel (death, burial, resurrection of Jesus to  resolve our sin debt with God-Father) we are disconnected from God and  can only attach our hunger & faith to people & earthly things of  the world. We attach our hearts to the things of this life and build a  false belief system around the idea that the love of people and possessions  (instead of  God) can make us happy (a lie). We build our entire belief system on lies that we pick up out of the world (this statement  requires considerable explanation). All that we learn & believe that  builds our thinking system before we are saved is devoid of God as the center & purpose and without the Holy Spirit to reveal the divine truths to us. After we are saved we use the same system to learn the same divine ideas that Jesus used in His earthly life so that we can use them too, becoming like Him from the inside out. AGAIN, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart (energy-bliss-thymus), and with all thy soul (power-joy-pons), and with all thy mind (energy-bliss-thymus) and strength (body-delight-ras-gut) [UPWARD FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM– ARAS, Thymus, Pons, RAS/GUT].  Mathew 22:37-39 

We have all harbored anger and shame in our high heart-mind. But these human accomplishments were not being achieved for the right reasons, and humanity was going in the wrong direction. And their ease of communication was facilitating all of this.  So when God divided their languages and spread them out throughout the earth, their progress slowed. Instead of working together to achieve evil, humanity developed slowly and regionally.

When  Paul, therefore, declares that “all writing” is the product of the  divine breath, “holds his breath of God” (2 Tim 3:16).

Attitude “break down”:

  • Do things good for not all the right reasons

We tend to think that learners differ along general dimensions such as IQ or verbal ability. But, in fact, each of the myriad small specializations are sources of individual difference. A healthy mind (intelligence) depends on the impact of trauma , especially learning with trauma, on the leb and the realsing of negative present and generaltional emotions that a person has experienced in their lifetime. I want you to think about the Necker cube, which is sometimes used to test computer models of the human visual system, to see if consistent interpretations of the image are the same. There is evidence that by focusing on different parts of the figure, one can force a more stable perception of the cube.

As listed above on the cubed intelligence model, I need you to note  under operations with convergent and divergent operations. Most people  are convergent and have deductive reasoning and convergent thought.  Those with neurodiversity have divergent production and have inductive  reasoning and divergent thought. This is not the norm. The convergent  production is based solely off of the “scientific method”- this thought  process involves answering “what” with facts/form and function with theory, hypothesis, testing, and  conclusion. The divergent production wants to answer the “why” using  with feeling/future with their own observations, patterns, hypothesis and theory. According to my friend Vishwas Asolkar, when referring to the cubed intelligence model, he says, “teaching patterns with Fractal Grids Patterns is an excellent method to understand and resolve complexities of thought waves to eliminate undue factors of mind, brain energies and directing wave path and time, essential elevation to higher spiritual layer thus is made possible by way of release of energy to sooth the cerebral pressure, cerebrum being a central part is heavily busy all the time with tremendous pressure/stress to sustain… Understanding the anatomy of brain is very much important for Yogic/spiritual Transformations… Jesus or Jesus like Sages are much above these stresses at the 12th level or beyond …!”

Lastly, think about the Rorschach Test, which is a projective psychological test, by Hermann Rorschach developed in 1921. Approximately, how many neurodiverse  learners are in existence? 23% of all learners, just under 1/4 of children and adults. The neurodiverse percieve words  as images of color-emotions in their mind and their symbols as we do the images known as inkblots. The emotions give us our subjective view of what we read, write, speak and hear. This is why testing should be obsolete; this can not be tested. In my perspective all IQ testing nor standardized tests (even those by  gold standard) are not set up for neurodivergent learners; Actually,  most of education isn’t revolutionary and set up to tests this divergent  way of thought- along with the authenticity of each person’s mind.  Anything that is subjective or factual knowledge and not wise doesn’t  meet the needs nor natural inquiry of the divergent minds’ perspective.  -Tricia Cook Tcooktutoring.

Here are a couple of reasons why read as follows:

I argue, the IQ is a fluid as a person’s EQ depending on the mindset, situational triggers, circumstance, and environment as well as what is mentioned prior when writing about functional systems and senses. This is why when they get the results from neurophycologist, the parents say to me, ‘this isn’t right I KNOW my child is intelligent’. I usuallt agree and say I know at home and with me they are…not in a place they’ve nevern been into before with people they just met nor with such pressure to do well on testing!!

I also argue that he cubed model (image 4.3) should be added to how we test IQ because it takes the variance of human perceptions held inside the thymus which is our “central intelligence”, which again is part of one’s spiritual mindset and imagination which takes into account: variances in experiences such as contents (facts), products (form/ functions), and operations (feelings/future) (see my Lesson Plan in Part II of  Their Nature).

I argue, that  IQ Intelligence Quotient- leaves little room for  imagination. Where the mind includes the “seeing & hearing” trusting  of God’s Higher Intelligence & Imagination. Imagination Quotient  (IQ) would need for us to look “outside of the box” and magnitude of a  specified characteristic or quality beyond typical/standard  understanding!!! This is where most of the neurodiverse gain their  “logic”.

REMEMBER: People are using their mental and emotional bodies to learn, not their etherical body (etheric). Also, as one of My Elbert trainers says, ‘it’s time to release the wisdom-filled strategies that God has given you…the hidden parts of yourself while at the same time learning to see, hear and recognize the greater content that is God.’

Speaking of the “whole child”- you need to examine every aspect of “the whole child” not just the end goal or result which is literacy and their appropriate learning behavior.

The program I developed is named My ELBERT which results include less passive student engagement, confidence, health and wellness including more pleasurable learning while participating in learning activities. This program looks at the “whole child” and their unique neural development, complete learning differences including the nature and nurture of the neurodifference including their chakras, biofield (EM Field), and nervous systems.

I’m now making my expertise available to parents, teachers, administrators, stakeholders and other learning communities. I observe the student’s sensory acute response to stress and interview teachers, the child, and parents, observe input/output of motor, verbal, and written behaviors in response to a literacy activity such as a phonics inventory, word- sound knowledge, phonological awareness exercises, and working memory activities along with the student’s interest survey and overall behaviors based on executive, somatic and autonomic functioning. Due to anger and shame, there is a difference in attentional processing level when developing early social and emotional skills.

EM Field is our affective-spiritual components which include the following: a healthy and functional physiological, sensory-motor systems meaning our exteroception and interoception (“our senses”) including our sensory system (especially visual and auditory) along with central and peripheral nervous systems- which is regulated by RAS & ACC/HPA, Pons (parts of the brain- I describe as heart not mind for that would be the RAS/Gut), thymus and biofield (including electromagnetic field, internal chakras).

Another study examined the visuo-spatial mechanism which is responsible for omissions and a perceptual integration process for substitution errors. They measured the performance of six patients with both ‘neglect and neglect dyslexia’, analyzing their reading errors as a function of letter spacing. In visual processing as well as decision-making, a separate study (2021), examined brain activity monitoring using EEG in the study showed synchronized activity over the centro-parietal regions of the brain involved in decision-making steadily increased in all of the children during the task until they made a decision. In humans, the vitamin D receptor is encoded by the VDR gene located on chromosome 12q13. 11. Like the iNKT cells, there are also fewer CD8αα/TCRαβ precursors in the thymus of VDR-KO animals. Moreover, to complete development CD8αα/TCRαβ cells must travel from the thymus to the gastrointestinal tract where IL-15 induces proliferation and upregulation of CD8αα. Emotion  recognition among people with disorders such as Parkinson’s disease or  schizophrenia may be affected by changes in the levels of dopamine in  the brain, say researchers at the University of Birmingham.  ‘T  cells are critical to the adaptive immune system’: Stopping Inflamation and Even Damage

The collaboration between Professor Adrian Liston (Babraham Institute)  and Professor Matthew Holt (VIB and KU Leuven; i3S-University of Porto)  has produced a targeted delivery system for boosting the numbers of  specialized anti-inflammatory immune cells specifically within the brain  to restrict brain inflammation and damage. The research team found that regulatory T cell numbers were low in  the brain because of a limited supply of the crucial survival molecule  interleukin 2, also known as IL2. Levels of IL2 are low in the brain  compared to the rest of the body as it can’t pass the blood-brain  barrier. Together the team devised a new therapeutic approach that  allows more IL2 to be made by brain cells, thereby creating the  conditions needed by regulatory T cells to survive. A ‘gene delivery’  system based on an engineered adeno-associated viral vector (AAV) was  used: this system can actually cross an intact blood brain barrier and  deliver the DNA needed for the brain to produce more IL2 production. The thymus includes ancient  extracellular signalling  molecules which are cues, such as growth factors, hormones, cytokines,  extracellular matrix components and neurotransmitters, designed to transmit specific information to target cells. Increasing knowledge about the roles of extracellular matrix and its components in the nervous system development and disease is important  from the therapeutic viewpoint. EFFECTUAL PRAYER B — 1: ἐνεργέω  (Strong’s #1754 — Verb — energeo — en-erg-eh’-o ) “to put forth power, be operative, to work” (its usual meaning), is  rendered by the verb “to work effectually,” or “to be effectual,” in the  AV of 2 Corinthians 1:6; Galatians 2:8; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; in each  case the RV translates it by the simple verb “to work” (past tense,  “wrought”). In James 5:16 the RV omits the superfluous word “effectual,”  and translates the sentence “the supplication of a righteous man  availeth much in its working,” the verb being in the present participial  form. Here the meaning may be “in its inworking,” i.e., in the effect  produced in the praying man, bringing him into line with the will of  God, as in the case of Elijah. THE AUDITORY BRAINSTEM RESPONSE (ABR) & MEASURES OF PH IN THE BLOOD: EVALUATES RISK FACTORS FOR HEARING LOSS. This (1980) found fourteen of 100 unselected patients in an Intensive care nursery were  found by the auditory brainstem evoked response (ABR) method to suffer  significant hearing loss; of these 8 were ultimately discharged home.  Analysis of the 100 clinical records identified 9 risk factors of which  most, like low Apgar scores, are already known (Table I). However,  neonatal asphyxia appeared to be associated with hearing loss only when  repeated episodes of acidosis accompanied it (Table III). We conclude  that the ABR readily identifies the hard-of-hearing premature and  estimates the type and amount of his peripheral hearing loss, and that  physiological events associated with prolonged perfusion of the cochlea  with blood low in pH may be the most common cause of hearing disorder in  this group. A normal blood pH level is 7.35 to 7.45 on a scale of 0 to 14,  where 0 is the most acidic and 14 is the most basic. This value can  vary slightly in either direction. If the lungs or kidneys are  malfunctioning, your blood’s pH level can become imbalanced. Intracellular pH (pHi) regulation in the brain is important in both physiological and physiopathological conditions because changes in pHi generally result in altered neuronal excitability. In this review, we will cover 4 major areas: (1) The effect of pHi on cellular processes in the brain, including channel activity and neuronal excitability. (2) pHi homeostasis and how it is determined by the balance between rates of acid loading (JL) and extrusion (JE). The balance between JE and JL determine steady-state pHi, as well as the ability of the cell to defend pHi  in the face of extracellular acid-base disturbances (e.g., metabolic  acidosis). PTSD- Many advances in science have been made in the last decade to better  explain the pathogenesis of PTSD. Advances in the brain imaging method  have allowed us to study changes in patients’ brains in a non-invasive  way. Recent studies have observed the activity or morphology changes of  several brain regions in patients with PTSD, including the prefrontal  lobe, amygdala, hippocampus. However, it is still unclear how these  changes in brain regions are linked to PTSD. Further research needs to  be conducted to understand the function of brain regions during the  development of PTSD. Also, people can develop PTSD, depression, or both  as a result of a major traumatic event. Pathological Demand Avoidance of PDA is becoming more widely recognized as a distinct profile of autism. British psychologist Elizabeth Newson  came up with this term which describes an anxiety-driven need to be in  control and avoid other people’s demands and expectations. Demand avoidance in the PDA profile looks different from what others on  the autism spectrum experience because of its extreme nature and  obsessive quality. Research  done at the University of Newcastle in November 2016 found that  Intolerance of Uncertainty (IU) was also associated with PDA, in fact  even stronger than anxiety. For many people, a traumatic experience can leave an indelible  impression on the brain in the form of post-traumatic stress disorder  (PTSD). Deficient emotional self-regulation (DESR) is a relatively new term used  to describe the problem of impulsive emotion coupled with emotional  self-regulation difficulties — issues long associated with attention  deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD). DESR may be new to the  ADHD lexicon, however I argue that it is a core and commonly overlooked  component of the disorder — and one that can help predict a patient’s  impairments, and even improve diagnostic and treatment practices.1

Dysthymia- People  with untreated ADHD can suffer from dysthymia  — a mild but long-term  mood disorder or sadness. It is often brought  on by living with the  frustrations, failures, negative feedback, and  stresses of life due to  untreated or inadequately treated ADHD. Borderline Personality Disorder  (BPD)- What is also interesting is that ‘child maltreatment and efficiency of the conflict attention (Alerting, Orienting, and Executive Function Networks)  and their interactions of the networks along with their independently  predicted scores on the (BPD) precursors  composite. A study of human brain tissue suggests clinical depression reduces the quantity of astrocyte cells in key regions

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common  and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the  way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable.  Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in  activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and  physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at  work and at home. In another study, they studied how loneliness is correlated with a higher risk of developing mental conditions. They studied how deterioration can occur in physical health, and is linked to  mortality and higher health care utilizationa combination of personality traits and childhood circumstances account for why some older people  experience loneliness more than others. The gut microbiota forms part of a complex network termed the  microbiota-gut-brain axis along with the enteric nervous system,  sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous  system, neuroendocrine and neuroimmune components the central nervous  system. Major depressive disorder is a stress-related mood disorder associated  with a disrupted HPA axis, and evidence suggests that the gut microbiota  play a key role in modulating depression. Bipolar disorder is a severe  psychiatric disorder with dysfunctions of neuroimmune system which also  suggest the brain-gut-microbiota axis is an important physiological  mechanism. Communication from gut to brain occurs through tryptophan,  an essential building block of serotonin. Serotonin is key in  regulating mood, eating, and sleep patterns. There is limited storage  capacity for tryptophan in the brain, and a constant supply is required  from the gut. It was once believed that tryptophan came strictly from  diet alone, but what research has shown is that gut microbiota,  particularly Bifidobacterium, produces tryptophan and increases its levels in the bloodstream. This study below has since been replicated, adding to global evidence linking  the microbiome-gut-brain axis to stress and mental health disorders. Low  diversity in the gut microbiota is now considered a significant  biomarker for major depressive disorder. Other mental health and  neurodegenerative disorders with significant microbiome-gut-brain ties  include: post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and autism. The microbiome-gut-brain axis also plays a critical role in irritable bowel syndrome, and in understanding the link between mental health disorders and physical illness, such as depression or anxiety co-occurring with inflammatory bowel disease. Other NDD’s

Most people are unaware of the connection between dyslexia and ADD or ADHD. It has been estimated that between 30 – 60% of kids with dyslexia also have either ADD or ADHD.

“Challenges with processing emotions start  in the brain itself. Sometimes the working memory impairments of ADHD  allow a momentary emotion to become too strong, flooding the brain with  one intense emotion.” Thomas Brown, Ph.D.

Brain imaging studies demonstrate that  chemicals that activate reward-recognizing circuits in the brain tend to  bind on significantly fewer receptor sites in people with ADHD than do  those in a comparison group. People with ADHD are less able  to anticipate pleasure or register satisfaction with tasks for which the  payoff is delayed.

Few doctors factor in emotional challenges  when making an ADHD diagnosis. In fact, current diagnostic criteria for  ADHD include no mention of “problems with emotions.” At other times,  working memory impairments leave the person with  insufficient sensitivity to the importance of a particular emotion  because he or she hasn’t kept other relevant information in mind. Challenges with emotions start in the brain itself. Sometimes the working memory impairments  of ADHD allow a momentary emotion to become too strong, flooding the  brain with one intense emotion [emotional intensity or insensitivity]. At other times, the person with  ADHD seems insensitive or unaware of the emotions of others.  Brain connectivity networks carrying information related to emotion seem  to be somewhat more limited in individuals with ADHD.

Gifted & Talented Plus 2e

The term “twice-exceptional,” also referred to as “2e,” is used to  describe gifted children who, have the characteristics of gifted  students with the potential for high achievement and give evidence of  one or more disabilities as defined by federal or state eligibility  criteria. Emotional Intensity (see pons above and insensitive below)- It is characterized by heightened and intense feelings, a constant stream of both positive and negative feelings – pain, distress, despair, fear, excitement, love, sadness or happiness – sometimes a mixture of many at the same time; For my program, it’s mainly: anger, shame, happiness (joy), grief, courage (might), and harmony!

Emotionally overexcitable (OE) is often the first to be noticed by parents. It is reflected in heightened, intense feelings, extremes of complex emotions, identification with others’ feelings, and strong affective expression (Piechowski, 1991). Other manifestations include physical responses like stomachaches and blushing or concern with death and depression (Piechowski, 1979).  Emotionally overexcitable people have a remarkable capacity for deep relationships; they show strong emotional attachments to people, places, and things (Dabrowski & Piechowski, 1977). They have compassion, empathy, and sensitivity in relation-ships. Those with strong Emotional OE are acutely aware of their own feelings, of how they are growing and changing, and often carry on inner dialogs and practice self-judgment (Piechowski, 1979, 1991). Children high in Emotional OE‚ are often accused of “overreacting.” Their compassion and concern for others, their focus on relationships, and the intensity of their feelings may interfere with everyday tasks like homework or doing the dishes.
